Who performs the injections?
As the injections are viewed as a medical treatment, they should be performed by a qualified professional in a medical environment. At the clinic, our team of highly experienced and highly qualified nurse prescribers. ensure that every treatment we complete is safe, and of a high professional standard.
Can I receive treatment straight after my consultation?
Yes, this is possible and completely up to you. Many of our patients who travel long distances have their consultation and receive treatment on the same day.
How long do the results last?
Typically, you can expect results to last around a year before the body reabsorbs the hyaluronic acid and then repeat injections would be required. This can vary from person to person, depending on the age of the patient, their metabolism, how much exercise they do regularly, the normal blood flow to the face and if they smoke.
For example, younger patients tend to typically have a faster metabolism and increased blood flow to the face, so the filler may last shorter as their body would reabsorb the filler quicker compared to a patient with a slower metabolism. It is also common for other facial fillers to last longer. This is because the mouth is much more mobile, so fillers in the lips will break down quicker compared to fillers in other, less mobile facial areas.
Everyone is different and during your consultation we will discuss this with you to ensure full honesty and transparency with your results.
How much does it cost?
During your consultation, we will discuss your desired results to recommend the best treatment plan tailored to you. Everything will be covered with full transparency in your consultation with your practitioner.
Pricing starts from £400/ml. Offering £300/ml for any additional top-ups between 3-6 months after initial treatment. The quantity of the filler needed is determined by the intensity of the result you would like to achieve; the cost is then worked out based on how much dermal filler is needed. For a natural result, we recommend injecting no more than 1ml per session. Second sittings for top-ups can be added over time.
How much should I have?
This depends on the desired results you’re looking for. Typically, we will administer 0.5-1mls in a sitting, to allow your tissue to expand naturally with the filler. Any more could cause the lips to protrude unnaturally.
Some patients absorb filler far quicker than others, so may require more or less filler. This is due to our genetic makeup. We can provide a second sitting for patients who wish to enhance their lips significantly.
During your consultation, you will be advised by your practitioner with the right treatment plan for you. We do recommend further top-up treatments in the future, if you wish to maintain your desired appearance.
How soon after will I start to see results?
Results can be seen right away, however, they may be localised swelling around the injected areas for a day or two. If unexpected swelling continues, please get in contact with your practitioner.
Can I go back to work immediately after the treatments?
You may experience tenderness or soreness after your treatment. Any swelling should reduce within a few days. These side effects are completely normal and do not present concern. To help the treated area heal, avoid touching your lips, wearing makeup or partaking in physical exercise in the days following your treatment.
Does the treatment hurt? Will I bruise?
Every patient’s experience of pain is different, however we will try our best to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you by using a numbing cream before the treatment to reduce discomfort.
Bruising around the injection site is possible but only a small percentage of patients develop small bruising. If bruising occurs, it is usually apparent at day 2-3 and will typically resolve over 5-10 days.
We are exceptionally experienced with needles and always aim to be as gentle and pain-free as possible.
Are there any risks?
Fillers are only as safe as the individual administrating them. We use the highest-grade sterile equipment and specialist trained nurse prescribers. We are fully insured and professionally qualified to administer fillers, keeping up to date with advanced courses and techniques to give you a unique, tailored service.
There is a risk of developing vascular occlusion, which we can treat by dissolving the fillers. As the filler is non-permanent, any side effects will improve and heal with time. If you’re concerned you can visit us or give us a call for advice.
Are there any possible side effect to the treatment?
You may experience minor lumps, swelling or puffiness from treatment, which will reduce in 1 to 2 days. Due to the delicate area being treated, these side effects are completely normal and could last for a few days.
As the filler is non-permanent, any side effects will improve and heal with time. If you’re concerned you can visit us or give us a call for advice.
What will my lips feel like soon after treatment?
It is completely normal to feel like you have bumpy lips a few days after treatment, even if your lips look amazing. This is to be expected, especially with first-time treatments and the sensitive area; it is the tissue’s response to healing. After a few weeks this will settle, and your lips will feel natural again. However, it is common to experience lumpy lips for up to 6 weeks as well as bruising due to the fact that the lips are extremely vascular. This is expected swelling from needle administration, not the filler spreading. If you are worried about your results, please get in touch.
We hold as best practice, reviewing patients after 2-3 weeks in order to allow the swelling to subside. This way we will avoid over correction
When is the best age to get filler treatment?
Ageing is individual, so there is no right time to get fillers. If you begin to notice subtle changes, such as your makeup no longer looking right, it may be as a result of ageing. We recommend no one under the age of 18 receives fillers.
What if I don’t like the results from my fillers?
It’s possible to instantly dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers using the same enzyme the body uses to break down its own natural hyaluronic acid in the skin. However, outside of emergencies we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks after treatment to dissolve fillers to ensure you’ve fully recovered.
I want perfectly plump lips
Be realistic.
Expectations of perfection are far-fetched. Some individual’s lips could be asymmetrical due to muscle pulling instead of luck of tissue. Therefore, multiple sittings might be required in order to achieve the desired result.
A lot of perfect plumped lips on social media are often as a result of several treatments. Treatment can take time and so can your desired results.
No professional will guarantee perfect results straight away, you should be cautious of anyone who does promise this. We will work closely with you to understand and set out a tailored treatment plan to help achieve your desired results. We will always be open and honest about your treatment expectations.
Do I have to continually have lip fillers? Will my lips look worse if I don’t?
To maintain your desired results, we may recommend a repeated treatment spread out over a few months or even years. If you decide to stop getting lip fillers, providing your administrator hasn’t been negligent with injecting and ensuring that your lips aren’t stretched, then you can expect your lips to recover back to your natural look before fillers over time.
I’m pregnant, can I have fillers?
Currently, no thorough research has been undertaken to conclude the side effects of fillers in pregnant women. For this reason, we do not advise lip enhancement procedures during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Can I have fillers if I am not 18?
The treatment is recommended for people between the ages of 18 and 60. Unfortunately, anyone under the age of 18 cannot receive this treatment.
