What concerns can a thread lift help with?
The Thread Lift procedure is suitable for:
- Improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, such as the nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
- Tightening the skin on your neck and jawline
- Creating visible results without the need for surgery
- Lifting skin on the jowls, cheeks and under the eyes
- Smoothing fine lines around the forehead, eyes and mouth
- To open up the appearance of hooded eyes
How does the Thread Lift work?
The Thread Lift works in two ways, it uses a pulling effect to lift and tighten the skin while also stimulating the production of collagen in the skin.
As we age, our body’s production of collagen slows down. As a result, we start to notice signs of ageing such as fine lines and drooping of the skin.
The threads are inserted into the skin to act as anchor points to tighten the skin and encourage more collagen production. This unique combination of lifting and cell regeneration is what makes the procedure so powerful!
How soon can I start to see results?
You will be able to see instant visible results after the treatment. The optimal results can be seen after 6-12 weeks, where the thread has stimulated the skin to regenerate and produce new collagen and cells.
Aftercare Advice
As the procedure is non-surgical, there’s a minimal recovery time so you can return to your daily routine after treatment. We will ask you to sleep on your back for up to 7 days post treatment while your skin fully heals.
For a minimum of 5 hours after treatment, we ask that you do not:
Wash or expose the treated areas directly to heat or the sun
Engage in strenuous exercise that can cause sweating
Expose the treated areas to saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi, or hot showers
Restrict facial movement to allow your treatment areas to heal
Please do not touch your face, this includes pulling the skin, washing or exfoliating the skin
You will be given a detailed aftercare leaflet post treatment explaining everything you need to know.
Are Thread Lifts safe?
They are considered as very safe with minimal complications. There is a risk of slight bruising, discomfort, swelling, infection, numbness and slight asymmetry. All of these are usually mild and will heal on their own after 24-72 hours. We will discuss this fully in your consultation so you can make your own fully informed decision.
Will I be able to see the threads?
The threads we use are clear and so small that they are not visible post treatment, even if you look for them!
Will the threads need to be removed in the future?
No further treatment is required after the procedure as the threads are made from PDO. The threads are biodegradable and have excellent tolerability, over the years your body will naturally break down the threads. So, there is no need to remove the threads in the future.
How long will results last for?
You can expect results to last up to 2-3 years, making it an excellent long-lasting procedure. Several factors can affect your results such as your age, quality and condition of your skin and the severity of skin drooping.
Will it look like I’ve had work done?
The Thread Lift works to create a natural-looking lift to the skin, without the drastic ‘facelift’ look. You can expect a younger, more lifted appearance.

Can the Threads break?
It is extremely unlikely and often due to poor practice if a thread breaks, as it most likely occurs within the first 1-2 weeks after treatment. The threads can fail in other ways, but by ensuring you receive top quality treatment these risks are reduced. We will cover all risks of the treatment during your consultation.
How many times can I get a Thread Lift?
Results can last up to 1-2 years. We recommend maintenance treatments every 6-12 months after your treatment, depending on your needs and desired results.
Can the Thread Lift be reversed?
Depending on the depth of the treatment, often thread lifts are difficult to reverse. The body will however naturally dissolve the threads within a couple of years. We will discuss your results and risks within your consultation.
Is the treatment safe?
As the treatment is non-invasive, it is low risk and safe to receive.
Every patient’s experience of pain is different. However, we will try our utmost best to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you. We use a local anaesthetic before the treatment to reduce discomfort.
