How does it work?
We administer a filler to soften the appearance of nose to mouth lines, to create a more lifted lower face that can balance the profile of the rest of the facial features. This treatment is common with males and females. Desired results can take multiple treatments to safely enhance the nose to mouth lines, and all of this will be discussed in your consultation.
Who performs the injections?
As the injections are viewed as a medical treatment, they should be performed by a qualified professional in a medical environment. At the clinic, our team of highly experienced and highly qualified nurse prescribers ensure that every treatment we complete is safe, and of a high professional standard.
Can I receive treatment straight after my consultation?
Yes, this is possible and completely up to you. Many of our patients who travel long distances have their consultation then receive treatment on the same day as well.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
Filler enhancement is very different from surgery as there is little to no downtime after treatment. It is expected to have a red or shiny appearance around your mouth due to the injections, however, this will settle after a couple of hours.
How long do the results last?
Typically, you can expect results to last around a year to 18 months before the body reabsorbs the hyaluronic acid and then repeat injections would be required. This can vary from person to person, depending on the age of the patient, their metabolism, how much exercise they do regularly, the normal blood flow to the face and if they smoke.
For example, younger patients tend to typically have a faster metabolism and increased blood flow to the face, so the filler may last shorter as their body would reabsorb the filler quicker, compared to a patient with a slower metabolism. Everyone is different and during your consultation, we will discuss this with you to ensure full honesty and transparency with your results.
How much does it cost?
To recommend the best treatment plan tailored to you, all this will be covered with full transparency in your consultation with your practitioner.
Pricing starts from £400/ml. Offering £300/ml for any additional top-ups between 3-6 months after the initial treatment. The quantity of the filler needed is determined by the intensity of the result you would like to achieve; the cost is then worked out based on how much dermal filler is needed.
How much should I have?
This depends on the desired results you’re looking for. Some patients absorb filler far quicker than others, so may require more or less filler. This is due to our genetic makeup. During your consultation, you will be advised by your practitioner with the right treatment plan for you. We do recommend further top-up treatments in the future, to maintain your desired appearance.
How soon after will I start to see results?
Results can be seen right away, however, there may be localised swelling around the injected areas for a day or two. If unexpected swelling continues, please get in contact with your practitioner.
Can I go back to work immediately after the treatments?
You may experience tenderness or soreness after your treatment, however, any swelling should reduce within a few days. These side effects are completely normal and do not present concern. To help the treated area heal, avoid touching the treated areas, wearing makeup immediately after treatment or partaking in physical exercise in the days following your treatment.
Does the treatment hurt? Will I bruise?
Every patient’s experience of pain is different, however, we will try our best to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you by using a local anaesthetic before treatment to reduce discomfort.. Bruising around the injection site is possible but only a small percentage of patients develop small bruising. If bruising occurs, it is usually apparent at day 2-3 and will typically resolve over 5-10 days.
We are exceptionally experienced with needles to be as gentle and comfortable as possible.
Are there any risks?
Fillers are only as safe as the individual administrating them. We use the highest-grade sterile equipment and specialist trained nurse prescribers. We are fully insured and professionally qualified to administer fillers, keeping up to date with advanced courses and techniques to give you a unique tailored service.
Are there any possible side effect to the treatment?
You may experience minor lumps, swelling and puffiness from treatment which will reduce in 1 to 2 days after treatment. Due to the delicate area being treated, these side effects are completely normal and may last for a few days.
There is a risk of developing vascular occlusion, which we can treat by dissolving the fillers. As the filler is non-permanent, any side effects will improve and heal with time. If you’re concerned you can visit us or give us a call for advice.
When is the best age to get filler treatment?
Ageing is individual, so there is no right time to get fillers. If you begin to notice subtle changes, such as your makeup no longer looking right, it may be as a result of ageing. We recommend no one under the age of 18 receives fillers.
What if I don’t like the results from my fillers?
It’s possible to instantly dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers using the same enzyme the body uses to break down its own natural hyaluronic acid in the skin. However, outside of emergencies we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks after treatment to dissolve fillers to ensure you’ve fully recovered.
I’m pregnant, can I have fillers?
Currently, no thorough research has been undertaken to conclude the side effects of fillers in pregnant women. For this reason, we do not advise dermal filler procedures during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Can I have fillers if I am not 18?
The treatment is recommended for people between the ages of 18 and 60. Unfortunately, anyone under the age of 18 cannot receive this treatment.
